The Oyo state government is looking for investors to set up cable and wire manufacturing plants. There are few companies in Nigeria manufacturing cables and wires, which are required particularly for the rural electrification program in the country. The Nigerian Wire and Cable manufacturing company, which is based in Oyo state, produces aluminium conductor low voltage cables and wires and lacks the capacity to meet current demand.

Investment opportunity

The government is therefore inviting credible investors to establish more manufacturing plants to deliver the following:

• Manufacture of power cables such as 11kv and 33kv power cables
• Manufacture and service transformers of different capacities
• Manufacture electrical materials (11kv) annd 33kv lighting arrestors, drop out fuses, gang insulators and line post insulators.

Incentives

The state government provides the following incentives to investors;

Tax holidays: These are given to investors who intend to establish core industrial projects that are a priotity to the state. 
Repatriation of profits: Foreign investors can repatriate profits without any inhibition.
Land: The state provides easy to access to land through prompt issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy to genuine investors.
Security: Oyo State is peaceful, politically stable and economically viable.
Health and education facilities: Health care services and free education are available in the various state instituitions.
