Solar power is gaining enormous momentum in Nigeria as an alternative source of electricity. Renewable energy provides an effective way of side-stepping the country's power supply problems.
One company that is taking the renewable energy industry by storm is South Africa-based SETSOLAR, a company that specialises in the manufacture of photovoltaic solar modules, the distribution of solar-energy components and turnkey alternative-energy solutions.

Why SETSOLAR offers a unique solution
SETSOLAR was originally established as an importer of solar panels from overseas, however directors Peet and Mary Booysen identified the need for a local manufacturer to start producing custom-made solar panels in South Africa.
By manufacturing the panels themselves, SETSOLAR can not only offer a unique solution to its clients’ needs, it can also offer very competitive prices.
'Because of the exchange rate at the moment, our solar panels are already cheaper than those imported products from China,' says company director Mary Booysen. 'And because we’re local, we offer excellent delivery lead-times.'
That means that the company is able not only to provide an excellent after sales maintenance and repair service to customers, but is also able to manufacture panels to customer’s bespoke requirements.
'Most solar panels come with a standard aluminium frame around them, but we can customise the look and layout of a panel so that it fits in better with its surroundings,' says Mary.
