Sector
Tourism & Leisure
The Lagos State Government is inviting investors to invest in a world class aquarium.
With a view of strategically repositioning Lagos on the world tourism map, the Ministry of Tourism & Inter-Governmental Relations intends to initiate a series of tourism projects on the basis of public private partnerships with potential investors, top-class property and estate agents, business groups or conglomerates.
Investment Opportunity
The proposed aquarium would utilise the varied marine life that exists just off the coast of Lagos.
It would consist of water dwelling animals, tropical fish, amphibians and a range of large marine mammals, e.g. dolphins, sea turtles, sharks.
The project would take advantage of the peculiar Lagos marine environment.
Market
Lagos is Nigeria's most populous state with close to 18 million people. As a major transportation hub with an international and local airport, Lagos is uniquely placed to benefit from tourist arrivals into Nigeria. The presence of sea ports and major international road gateways naturally place Lagos at an advantage for being the first point of call for about 68% arrivals into Nigeria.
