Investors have the opportunity to invest in dairy farms and dairy products in Sokoto State, situated in north-west Nigeria.
Current activities
Commercial dairy farming is gaining ground in Sokoto State. Sidi and Tori farms are the major commercial dairy farms involved in fresh milk supplies and yoghurt making. Small scale farms with up to 20 cows are also increasing. The on-going State Government Artificial Insemination Programme with a target of inseminating 30 000 cows annually will stimulate the dairy industry even further.
Investment Opportunity
With an abundance of cattle, Sokoto State has great potential in dairy production as small scale farmers are unable to meet demand of the populace for dairy products.
The Sokoto State Government is welcoming investors interested in any area of dairy production.
Incentives
The Sokoto State Government is willing to facilitate easy access to land for any serious investor looking to do business in the state. The administration will also assist investors with infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water, etc.
