The Sokoto State Government is looking to partner with the private sector in the construction and maintenance of roads in the state.
Investment Opportunity
A number of roads have been identified where private sector participation is needed.
The practice of public private partnerships in development has yielded outstanding results in nations where it has been implemented, particularly in the areas of health, education, energy, water and transportation. The Sokoto State Government is therefore eager to adopt this system in road construction.
It is proposed that the investment can be recouped through toll although the state government is willing to negotiate with prospective investors on the issue of revenue generation.
Reasons to invest in Sokoto State

Incentives: The Sokoto State Government is willing to extend a number of incentives to serious investors. These include the provision of land and infrastructure, tax holidays and assistance with obtaining financing.
Road Users: With a population of close to 4 million, Sokoto State has a large number of road users. Increased commercial activity should also increase the number of vehicles on the road.
Stable political climate: Since its return to civilian rule in 1999 Nigeria has made significant gains in establishing democracy. Besides a few localised problems in the Niger Delta area, the country is safe and secure to do business.
