


Investors have the opportunity to invest in beef production in Sokoto State, situated in north-west Nigeria.
Livestock is an integral part of Sokoto State's economy and the area is one of the largest producers of cattle in the country. The current cattle population of Sokoto State is estimated at 2 million. The predominant dual purpose (meat and milk) cattle breeds found in the state are Sokoto Gudali and White Fulani. Others such as Red Bororo 'Yakanji' and 'Azawak' are mainly for beef production.
The beef production capacity of the state is currently 500 000 tonnes per annum with much room for further investment. The state has great potential for investment in a modern ranching system with a modern abattoir and meat factory.
