The Sokoto State Government is inviting investors to invest in the production of ethanol.

With the threat of global warming biofuels is in huge demand and any investor in this industry will not be short of an adequate market.

Investment Opportunity

The project will involve the planning, construction and operation of the facility. Sokoto State is suitable for a number of crops that can be used for ethanol production, including: maize, cassava, jatropha, etc. Investors could either buy crops from local farmers or cultivate their own land.

A factory can be established anywhere in the state but will be best suited in the Sokoto metro axis due to the promising market potential and availability of raw materials.

The state government is offering the following incentives for investment in agri-processing:

  • Guarantee of loans by state government
  • Tax concessions
  • Consultancy services and investment management advisory services

The Nigerian Federal Government is also offering a number of incentives for investment in biofuels.

Investors interested in this opportunity should contact Dr Buhari Bello Kware of the Sokoto State Investment Promotion Committee at bbkware@yahoo.com
