


Local and foreign companies have the opportunity to resuscitate a dormant textile factory in Kwara State, situated in central Nigeria.
Investment Opportunity
The Kwara State Government, as well as the Federal Government, are committed to reviving Nigeria's ailing textile industry and is actively seeking investment in the sector. The Federal Government recently established a N70 billion fund to get the industry back up and running.
The project will involve the total evaluation, planning, redesigning, reconstruction and operation of the factory.
Market
Nigeria, with its population of 140 million is a viable market for textile products. The importation of substandard products from China is currently hampering the industry but government is earnestly addressing the issue. The African Growth and Opportunity Act and various regional West African trade agreements also provide export opportunities for Nigerian textile manufacturers.
