Ashakacem Plc in Gombe State plans to spend N5.5-billion in mining coal discovered in large reserves at Akko Local Council.
Interested local and foreign investors are hereby given the opportunity to invest in the mining of coal reserves, estimated at more than 4.5 million tones, which can sustain mining activities for 25 years.
The communities displaced as a result of the mining would also benefit in terms of being provided with adequate social amenities where they would be resettled. The project is going to open employment opportunities and local workers will make-up at least 60% of the workforce.
