The Lagos State Government is offering local and foreign investors the opportunity to get involved in the development and operation of water transport services in the state.

Lagos is the economic hub of West Africa with an estimated six million daily commuters. Around 70% of the state is accessible by water through various lagoons and waterways.

Investment Opportunity

The state government is looking for investors to partner with in this huge project which will involve:

  • Dredging and channelisation works;
  • the design and construction of terminals and jetties; and
  • the operation of water transport services.

    Dredging and channelisation of the Ikorodu Waterfront and the Lagos Lagoon has begun and three major routes have already been identified to start the service: Ojo-Marina, Ijede-Badore and Falomo-Marina. Jetties have been also constructed at Abgoyi (Kosofe) and Ijegun Egba (Oriade).
