Local and foreign companies have the opportunity to invest in a paint manufacturing facility in Sokoto State, situated in north-west Nigeria.

With Nigeria's positive economic growth outlook and the boom in the construction industry, a significant market for paint exists. New infrastructure projects will increase the demand for all paint-related materials from protective coatings to road-marking paints to building paints. Nigeria also enjoys favourable trade relations with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to where paint products can be exported

Given the presence of kaolin in large deposits in Ilela, Tangaza, Bodigna and Yabo Local Government Areas of Sokoto State, the potential for a paint factory is enormous. Kaolin is used as a pigment or an extender in surface coating.
