The Kwara State government is looking to partner with interested investors to establish an industry for the production of burnt red bricks, fibre asbestos for roofing and other associated building materials. The basic raw material for the production of burnt red bricks is clay which is found in large quantities in the local government areas of Osi, Okeero and Ilorin East.
The project will involve the designing, planning, construction, and operation of the facility. On-location surveys will also need to be carried out.
Another important component of the project is the upliftment of local communities by involving them in the operation of the production unit.
Currently there is no functional industry in Kwara State for the production of burnt red bricks and they are brought in from Ogun State for construction needs.
