The Lagos Business School (LBS), Pan-African University, has retained its position as the second best in Africa for executive education, This Day reports.

LBS is ranked number 53 in the Financial Times' 2009 Executive Education open-enrolment rankings.

The top ranked school is Harvard Business School, followed by the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, both based in the USA.

Only two other African business schools were included in the rankings, namely the Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria (ranked 49), and the University of Stellenbosch Business School (ranked 55), both in South Africa.

Commenting on the Financial Times rankings, Dean of LBS, Prof. Juan Elegido said the school strives to remain up-to-date and help participants develop the skills they need to deal with business challenges in an emerging economy like Nigeria.
