Ernest Ndukwe, executive vice chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has extended an invitation to international investors to consider the opportunities that Nigeria presents in the areas of broadband services and infrastructure deployment, Sunday Trust reports.
Ndukwe spoke at the World Telecommunications Policy Forum (WTPF) hosted by the International Telecommunications Union in Lisbon, Portugal on Friday.
He said that the current success experienced in the funding of telecom and ICT projects in Nigeria is largely due to the consolidation of the banking sector which gave the nation's banks the capacity to finance the industry.
The NCC boss added that there is an increasing demand from Nigerian consumers for more ICT services which in turn creates the need for more investment.
