South African hotel group, Southern Sun has announced plans to invest in Nigeria's commercial capital, Lagos.

According to Business Report, Southern Sun has the management contract for the newly constructed Southern Sun Ikoyi, owned by the Beta consortium.

Managing director of Southern Sun OffShore, Richard Weilers said Lagos is one of Africa's fastest growing cities and an essential development area for the group.

Weilers went on to say that Nigeria is mainly seen as a business destination and that the majority of the hotel's guests will be business travellers.
