South African Airways has announced it will launch a new dedicated Premium Passengers' Lounge at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Travel Daily News reports.

Aaron Munetsi, SAA's Head: North, Central and West Africa said the new lounge is part of the airline's efforts to offer premium passengers a comfortable area to relax in before boarding their flights.

According to Munetsi, work on the lounge has reached an advanced stage and it is set to be launched in September this year.

Nigeria is critical for SAA’s global operations and it currently flies its Johannesburg-Lagos route six times a week. The airline is also in the process of securing three additional slots on the proposed Abuja-Johannesburg route.
