An investor is being sought to take a stake in Enyimba Hotels Limited Aba, situated in Abia State.

Business Day reports the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA) is looking for a local or foreign investor to take up to a 55% interest in the hotel of about 100 rooms.

The hotel, situated at Ogbo Hill and facing the Aba River was constructed more than 30 years ago but the building has since fallen into decay. When ACCIMA became the new owners it made some effort to revive the facility but to little effect.

According to the newspaper, the first phase of the renovation project will cost in excess of N1 billion (US$6.6 million).

In the original plan for the hotel, the natural river in front of the building would be dredged to accommodate boats and an artificial beach.
