Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Diezani Alison-Madueke has said that a number of Chinese companies have shown an interest to invest in Nigeria's mining sector, especially gold.

Daily Trust reports that according to the minister, the federal government is working hard to partner with local and international investors in the solid minerals industry.

Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of both Nigerian and Chinese investors, Alison-Madueke said the administration put in place new regulatory structures through the Minerals and Mining Act of 2007.

She added that junior miners already working on the exploration of gold have found commercial quantities greater then they first expected.
