Nigerian mobile operator Globacom has launched a new tariff package that enables users to make unlimited calls within the Glo network for only N40 (US$0.27) a day.
Business Day reports Globacom expects to increase its subscriber base by an additional five million within the next six months as a result of the initiative.
Mohammed Jameel, Globacom's group chief operating officer said there is no limit to the number of Glo to Glo calls subscribers who embrace the offering can make.
"This is the next biggest thing to shake the telecommunications industry after per second billing," the newspaper quoted Jameel.
He added that "nowhere else have Nigerians been offered this golden opportunity."
