Ondo spends more than N23 billion on roads

The Ondo State government has built 105 kilometres of roads in the oil producing areas of the state. The total cost of construction amounted to N23 billion.

The following roads have been constructed:

  • 5.3 km in Igbokoda at a cost of N500 million;
  • the 12 km Makun-Atijere road at N624.4 million; and
  • the 10.5 km Igbotu-Igbekebo road costing N632 million.

    Roads still under construction are:

  • the 35 km Igbokoda-Ugbonla road at a cost of N8.95 billion; and
  • the 42 km Aboto-Olokola road costing N12.165 billion.

    Igbekele Mesogborinwon, chairman of the Ilaje Local Government Council of Ondo State, said the roads have significantly improved the socio-economic activities of the region's people.
