As business between Britain and Nigeria continues to grow, the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry will lead a trade mission to Nigeria from 15 to 18 September 2008.

In 2007, total exports from Britain to Nigeria increased by 22% and passed the £1 billion milestone for the first time. UK Trade & Investment in Lagos reports that British companies are increasingly interested in the market with demand for their services doubling year-on-year in 2006 and 2007.

There are wide ranging opportunities for British exporters and particularly in the following sectors: agriculture, education and training, energy, financial services, infrastructure, mining and mineral processing, power, and telecommunications.

The benefits of joining the trade mission are the following:

  • British High Commission support and advice through a team of dedicated commercial officers in Lagos
  • Pre-visit and in-country briefings providing market information and advice on how to do business in Nigeria
  • Secure airport transfers and safety advice
  • Networking opportunities and client entertainment provided through British High Commission hosted reception in Lagos
  • Company details in trade mission brochure distributed to companies in Lagos
  • Local press coverage for appropriate companies
  • Subsidised market research provided through UKTI's Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) scheme. OMIS reports can provide in-depth market analysis, identification of contacts and, if required, arrangement of a full programme of meetings
  • Reduced costs through group travel
  • Shared intelligence through group visit
  • Services of an experienced mission manager before and during the visit
