Nigerian airline, Arik Air has announced a new Lagos-London flight starting in November.

Arik Air has been granted four slots at Heathrow Airport, Europe's busiest airport. According to chairman, Joseph Arumemi Johnson, Airk Air is pushing for more slots in order to operate a daily service to London.

In preparation of its flights to London, the airline will soon take delivery of three new Airbus A340-500 aircrafts. The planes are expected to have a 30 first class, 30 premium class and 230 economy seat configuration.

Arik Air is a wholly Nigerian owned company and had its first flight in October 2006. It operates flights to a number of Nigerian cities and a few other West-African countries. The London flight will be its first intercontinental route.
