to stimulate the manufacturing of local equipment for hydro power generation.

Two hydro power projects, located in Bauchi and Enugu States, are now ready for inauguration.
The two completed projects form part of the four hydro power plants initiated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). The other two are in Taraba and Ebonyi States and still need to finished.
Jossy Thomas, industrial development officer, renewable and rural energy unit of UNIDO said the completed Waya dam in Bauchi has a capacity of 150 KW, while the one in Enugu will be able to generate 30KW.
Thomas stated that the project has three components:
