The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has called for an increase in trade between Finland and Nigeria.

During a visit of the Finland ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Erik Ulstedt, to NACCIMA House, Dr Ignatius Ijegwa Adaji, president of NACCIMA said that trade between Nigeria and Finland has been very unbalanced during the past years. Trade from Finland to Nigeria has been increasing, while exports from Nigeria to Finland have been non-existent.

He also called for the arrangement of Nigerian trade missions to Finland to allow the business communities in the two countries to take advantage of opportunities.

According to Mr Ulstedt, trade between the two countries are lopsided because Nigeria has been unable to exploit the opportunities that exist in the export of palm produce to Finland. Finland has been importing palm oil from Malaysia and Indonesia to produce biofuel and diesel.
