Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, has tried to persuade renowned investor, George Soros to partner with his administration in the building of new infrastructure in the state.
While receiving the investor, Fashola said that the state's rapidly growing population and number of industries have put extra pressure on his government to renew the decaying infrastructure.
According to the governor there are many investment opportunities in state and that transportation, education, health and the environment are the most viable sectors. He said that support services need to be developed to support the vast amount of investment entering the state.
The United Nations predict that Lagos will be the third largest city in the world by 2015.
