A local engineering firm, Kenol Nigeria Limited has partnered with Nucon Switchgears Limited of India to manufacture and distribute transformers and solar power components.

The partnership should increase the supply of transformers and solar power in Nigeria, which should lead to an improvement of the power sector.

Olu Ogunduyile, Managing Director of Kenol said that Nigeria’s power supply problems are having a negative effect on the economy and that his team will improve the situation through an effective partnership with the Indian firm.

He also emphasised the need for Nigeria to make greater use of solar power and said that Kenol has already bought land for the manufacturing of solar components.

According the managing director, many Nigerian companies currently import low quality transformers.
