

A number of high-profile construction firms have submitted bids to build the proposed 10-lane Badagry Expressway in Lagos State.
The 60 kilometre expressway will include Bus Rapid Transit facilities and a light rail transport system. The road will start at Eric Moore in Surulere and end at Badagry.
Major firms that have either bid for the entire stretch of the expressway or certain segments include: Arab Contractors, Hi-Tech Construction, Moreno, Salini Nigeria Limited, Ugur BAS/China Harbour Engineering Construction consortium, P.W. Nigeria, Key-Based Ventures, Chinese Construction Engineering Company, CGGC Global Project Nigeria and Lekon Engineering Service Limited.
The Badagry Expressway project will follow the structure of a public private partnership (PPP) and the successful execution thereof is expected to lead to more PPPs in Lagos State in the future.
