Two new hydro-plants set to improve power supply in Osun State

The Osun State Government is busy finalising arrangements for the construction of two power plants to improve electricity supply, This Day reports.

According to the Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, these measures are being taken in anticipation of an increase in visitors to the state because of the Living Spring Free Trade Zone.

The administration, in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), is planning to construct two hydro-power plants in Okinni and Ede.

Oyinlola said his government is committed to the industrialisation of the state and the upgrading of infrastructure.

He added that the state is one of the most peaceful in the Nigeria with much potential in agriculture, solid minerals, education, health and tourism.
