Kogi partners with Americans to establish new power plant

The Kogi State Government has finalised plans to establish an independent power plant which will improve power supply in the state, Vanguard newspaper reports.

Phrank Shaibu, Special Advisor to the Kogi State Governor yesterday told journalists that the step has been taken to attract investment to the state.

According to Shaibu, the state government has singed a memorandum of understanding with an American firm which will utilise the coal deposits at Okaba.

He added that once the project is completed it will lead to increased investment and improve the living conditions of the state's residents.
