Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola said on Tuesday that the first two routes of the megacity's light rail project will start full operation by 2011.

According to Vanguard newspaper, Fashola said the first route would run from the western axis in Okokomaiko towards Badagry and then into the Lagos Central Business District. The second route would run from Iddo to Ijoko Otta in Ogun State.

Fashola said his administration is working on the intra-city light rail system and water transportation services to reduce traffic congestion in the state.
