Ikeja Hotels Plc is optimistic that its profitability level will cross the N1 billion mark in its 2007 financial year.
Mr Goodie Ibru, chairman, said despite growing competition the company has been performing well since 2002 and expressed his confidence that this trend will continue.
He also diclosed that Ikeja has acquired direct and indirect ownership and control of three of Nigeria's top five-star hotels, namely, Sheraton Lagos Hotel and Towers, Federal Palace Hotel and Abuja Sheraton Hotel and Towers.
Ibru noted that Nigeria's tourism and hospitality industry is set to witness a major turnaround due to increased global attention to the country. He also praised the Federal and State governments' efforts at developing the country's tourism sector.
He stated that the hospitality industry has the potential of becoming a huge foreign exchange earner for the country.
