Customs aims to reduce clearance times
Thu, 27 Sep 2007 00:00

Mr Jacob Buba Gyang, Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs, said that Customs is targeting 48 hours clearance as part of its transformation programme. The distance between the offices of shipping companies and the port is currently too far and has a negative effect on trade.

He promised to look into the high prices charged by shipping companies. Commercial banks were also told to improve their services as they are currently contributing to the delay in transactions.
