Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, made this comment and added that Nigeria has the potential to be one of the leading countries for tourism in the world.

According to Kayode, tourism can be Nigeria's foremost foreign exchange earner if the proper infrastructure is put into place.

The Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, Chief Olusegun Runsewe, earlier also called on the government to put less emphasis on oil production and establish a more enabling environment for tourism to thrive in.
