The aim of the bridge project is to connect all communities in the state and to enable farmers to easily transport their goods.
Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Paul Okorie said the current administration no longer has time for contractors who scramble for state contracts without having the means to execute the job properly. He added that the government's new emphasis is on quality and completing a project as quickly as possible.
In the future the state plans to use qualified engineers to assess the quality of work done by contractors. Those that deliver substandard work will have their contracts terminated and can also expect further action to be taken against them.
