Imo worried about its low number of industries

High levels of unemployment and a over-reliance on government is also a worry to the administration.

In order to stimulate industrial development in the state, government has drawn-up a number of programmes that also tie in with the New Face of Imo agenda. The Commissioner stressed the important role members of the Imo State House of Assembly and local government officials play in implementing industrial policy.

Obinali added that the government is going to reinstate and simplify incentives to attract industrial activity. Local government areas will also be expected to set aside 10-20 hectares of land for industries.
