According to Jajere, traditional leaders have an important role to play in the project, especially in the areas of advocacy and encouragement.
Yobe is one of the eleven states that would profit from the Fadama III project. The commissioner stated that the region would especially benefit in the areas of improved seedlings, irrigation farming and mechanized systems of agriculture.
In order to address unemployment and poverty, the programme will adopt a bottom to top approach. Each local government area in the state will have four facilitators to help farmers effectively use the facilities they are to receive.
