


The Benue State government is going to import tractors and agricultural implements for use by the state's increasing number of farmers.
Mr Benjamin Ashaver, commissioner for agriculture, signed a N900-million contract for the importation of 100 tractors for farming and another 35 tractors which is going to be used for waste disposal. The tractors are accompanied by high quality accessories.
According to the commissioner, the vehicles will be shipped to the country before the end of the year. The contracted company, Motherwell International Ltd, will also provide training to the ministry’s staff on the assembling of tractors, as well as maintenance.
Ashaver reaffirmed the administration's commitment to develop Benue State's agriculture sector.
