Foreign asset managers of Blakeney Management, a United Kingdom based firm, have visited the Nigerian Stock Exchange during the weekend to gain a better understanding on the state of the market.
The Guardian reports that the investors indicated a renewed faith in the Nigerian market because most companies are still operating profitably.
Obiora Ogbunude, who led the team of investors, said the firm manages a US$2 billion portfolio of which a large amount is invested in the stock exchange.
He added that Nigeria is a significant market to the company and that they are one of the largest investors in the country's sugar industry.
Ogbunude went on to say that despite the global economic crisis, the firm has not moved its investments out of Nigeria and does not have any plans of doing so.
