The two previous events also staged by internationally affiliated Fair Consultants SA and Exhibition Management Services each drew major participation by over 160 local and international oil, gas and petrochemical industry suppliers and service providers which were scrutinised by around 3 000 trade visitors.
In addition to these major regional and local industry players, international participation for 2008 is expected by supplier groups from China, India and the UK. Working in conjunction with their respective South African business chambers, the organisers have also scheduled inbound buyer groups from Angola, Ghana and Nigeria.
'Building on the initiatives of Oil Africa 2006 when MAN Ferrostaal initially announced their regional development plans, our timing is once again spot on as March 2008 coincides with the upcoming re-commissioning of the Saldanha fabrication facilities', stated Steve Hrabar, Chairman of the South African Oil & Gas Alliance (SAOGA) conference committee.
More than 500 delegates are expected to descend on Cape Town for the two days of conferences and workshops themed 'Managing Change in African Oil & Gas Supply' at which 20 speakers will present, including keynote papers by specialists from the UK, the US, Europe and China.
Co-located events include the PetrolWorld Expo & Retail Business Forum, the SAOGA golf day, several technical workshops and training masterclasses.
In the week prior to Oil Africa 2008 (12-16 March), the African Refiners Association will hold their AGM once again in Cape Town followed by two days of downstream workshops to be organised by CITAC UK and visitors coming from afar can benefit from a special organisers 'combo' package that offers a substantial discount for those wishing to participate in both events.
